Groot Constantia can be located on the Cape Peninsula and is one of South Africa’s most visited tourist attractions. The vineyards are tucked deep into the valley on the Eastern side of the magnificent Table Mountain. The cool southern slopes and deep mountain soils provides the ideal setting for the making of top quality wines, all for you to enjoy! Groot Constantia is an ideal example of the preservation of South African culture and heritage. The estate is currently owned by the Groot Constantia Trust, a non profit company (NPC). This trust is fully committed to maintain and restore this national monument which is South Africa’s oldest and best known wine estate.
Amongst it’s award winning wines and scrumptious food, Groot Constantia is also home to the Groot Constantia Experience | The Visitors route. Starting at the original Manor House, the unique new Visitors Route takes guests to the Cloete Cellar, the birthplace of the famed Grand Constance. Here one can enjoy a wine tasting of five award-winning wines in a Spiegelau crystal glass – yours to take home as a souvenir. From there guests visit the modern Production Cellar, which is the departure point for the self-guided cellar and vineyard audio-tours. Tickets (which are R95 pp) for this can be bought online, or you could just book a tour with us and we will gladly plan it all for you!
